The works at Lough Key Forest Park included developing the existing on site infrastructure and expanding on it for the future. The park is an important public amenity in the area and provides a very popular tourist destination with the provision of camping facilities on site. Due to the heavily forested nature of the site all works were undertaken with strict ecological measures in place.
The works included upgrading existing roadways, repair and development of caravan bays, survey of existing drainage system and replacement/repair works in association with Lough Key and Roscommon County Council.
The drainage model used on this project has led to the separation of all foul and storm pathways which, had previously caused difficulties at the treatment works during periods of heavy rain.
